In Nepal, the gap between urban and mountain villages is widening.People in mountain villages make a poor living through farming, with little cash income.Children are unable to buy teaching materials such as notebooks and pencils, and many are unable to attend school because they have to help with work at home. Even if they become ill , they cannot receive treatment because there arevery few medical facilities and doctors, and there is also no money. There are many people suffering from cold and hunger. At the Japan-Nepal Friendship Association (JNFC), we are working to help the poor mountain villagers of Nepal, albeit in a small way.
